Assessor - The Assessor is ultimately responsible for applying all laws to determine the value of all of the properties within their jurisdiction. Once the business personal property value is known they determine the amount that is owed according to the laws that are currently on the books. With all of that information, they create an Assessment Roll. This roll is a complete and accurate accounting of all of the business personal property taxes that are to be collected within the jurisdiction of the given Property Tax System. The Assessment Roll is then given to the Auditor-Controller for processing.

Auditor-Controller - The office of the Auditor-Controller then takes the Assessment Roll and reviews the documents and makes the necessary adjustments according to a procedure that may involve adding additional levies to certain parts of the Assessment Roll. After any all and all additions are made to the original documents, the final Extended Assessment Roll is then given to the Treasurer-Tax Collector's office for the final phase to be carried out.

Treasurer-Tax Collector - The Treasurer's staff is then tasked with ensuring that all of the taxes that are listed in the Extended Assessment Roll are properly collected. The Treasurer's office staff is responsible for printing, mailing out and collecting all of the payments from the listed owner of the business personal property according to the Extended Assessment Roll. This includes all secured and unsecured taxes which depends on the type of property that is involved.

Mike is a true professional. He really came thru for me and my business. Dealing with the IRS is very scary. I'm a small business person who works hard and Mike helped me see that they are not that scary after all. He was always there with the answers I needed and was very good about calling me back which I appreciated since your first reaction is to freak out and ask a million questions. He solved a messy case and worked very hard to resolve it. His rates are VERY reasonable for the amount of work he does! I give him my highest recommendation! Marcie R.

Mike was incredibly responsive to my IRS issues. Once I decided to go with him (after interviewing numerous other tax professionals), he got on the phone with the IRS immediately (as in the same day I signed with him) to squash an impending issue. And he worked directly with them to quickly come to a resolution I am very happy with. I'd highly recommend reaching out to Mike to see if he can help you with any IRS issues. I'm very satisfied!
